Expertise and experience

Deborah Laidlaw is acknowledged for providing independent development assessment and town planning expertise in dispute resolution, including mediation/conciliation and evidence in Land and Environment Court matters.  Consistent with this no commissions are undertaken in any advocacy role.


All town planning work is undertaken by Deborah Laidlaw who has over 25 years’ experience gained within local and state government and private consultancy. 

 

She was formerly NSW Manager of Gutteridge Haskins and Davey’s (GHD’s) environmental planning division with overall responsibility for projects including major strategic planning and infrastructure works.  She joined GHD following two years as Planning and Property Manager for Sydney Ports Corporation and prior to that, was a director of Sydney based planning and design consultancy, Design Collaborative.

 

Deborah is a Fellow of the Planning Institute of Australia.  She is a generalist planner with a good understanding of the broad range of issues impacting on land use and management decisions, including statutory planning, urban design, environmental assessment, environmental management, social planning, asset management, infrastructure development and port/marine planning.
